How Do You Spend Your Saturday Morning??

Today M spent her morning watching Angelina Ballerina with her doll, Alice, her ballet shoes, and a great big lollipop. (Note: we did have breakfast prior, so it is not quite as bad parenting as it first may appear.)

Of course, one can't watch Angelina without joining in on the dancing, for which M had to put her tutu on.

She was totally into her groove.

At one point her dance included rolling on the floor with some legs kicks. Baba and I were laughing so hard, and clapping as well, of course. M certainly keeps smiles on our faces!

A sweet story:
Earlier this week M and I were shopping at the mall. I was finding some great clearance and she was getting restless, ready to move on. She was pushing her stroller and told me she was going to the grocery store, with a huge smile on her face. When she has this smile, you know she's ready to "tease", so I said "Ok, I'll see you later." She starts laughing and says, "No, Mama, I (n)ever (l)eave you. I (l)ove you (f)or eh-er n eh-er(ever and ever)." Tears sprung into my eyes as my heart melted. She ran back to me and I lifted her up for a hug and a kiss as I told her, "I love you forever and ever too!"

How To Be a Good Mama

While giving your baby her bottle....
You need to sing a song about how much you love her....

You need to say a prayer with her...

And you absolutely can't forget to kiss her goodnight and tell her "Wo ai ni"(I love you).

Weekends are SNOW fun!

We've gone to the dogs! Snow dogs that is. A Siberian Husky club in our area hosted a special day for people to come and meet the dogs, try out the sleds, watch teams run, roast marshmellows, hear stories and learn about dog mushing. It took place at a forest perserve and the weather was perfect, for snow dogs that is. There was snow on the ground and snow blowing sideways through the air. Did I mention it was cold, cold, cold?!? M enjoyed it all. We had watched "Balto" the night before in preparation for the big event. You know, the cartoon depicting the sled dogs who raced through severe weather to carry medicine to Nome. Anyhow, M was very excited to see, Balto, in real life, even though we kept telling her she was going to see dogs LIKE Balto.
When it came to petting the huskies, she was a little timid, not that I could blame her. The dogs were super friendly, but also super excited as they knew they would be running the sleds later in the day.

Baba got the husky spirit and pulled M around on a dog sled. Baba was even barking, which M thought was pretty darn funny. A good time was had by all and we will definately be heading back to that event next year!
More snow fun today with sledding at the hill on the end of our street. M has the pleasure of zipping down the hill with Mama or Baba in this sweet ride, Baba's ice fishing sled. Last year, she wouldn't sit in the sled by herself only with Mama, otherwise she would start screaming and crying. What a difference a year makes!

Remember our snowman from a few days ago? Well, here he is again, only with a bit more snow on top of him now. Hope you are enjoying a winter wonderland of your own!

A year ago today

One year ago today we became a family. God blessed us with an amazing treasure, our daughter. She is a true joy. M is happy, loving, eager to learn and do. She is able to make all those around her smile.

We had a great day today making the most of the few inches of snow we received to build her first snowman. Her favorite parts were shoveling the snow and putting the snowman's face on.

We celebrated this evening by heading to Chinatown for dinner with Ye Ye and Nai Nai(Grandma and Grandpa) Our first stop was to buy M a special Chinese jewelry box. She was excited to pick it out. She selected a black laquer one with Chinese ladies on it made of mother of pearl. It has a music box inside and many different drawers behind the cabinet doors. She ate her dinner with a smile on her sweet face as Chinatown is her absolute favorite place to eat.
It has been an amazing first year. God is good and we have been richly blessed.
(Still getting used to the blogger, sorry about all the pics at the top. I still need to figure out how to mingle text and pics.)

Our First Year Together

M a few days ago M the day she was placed in our arms.

Well, we'll see how this goes. I am attempting to transition us from our JellyBeans site to this blogger site.

Tomorrow will be one year with our precious girl. I can't believe the difference a year makes. M has totally changed our lives in a totally amazing way. She is the love of our lives.
